Third Quarter Concepts In our Fundations program, we will be doing a lot of work looking at vowel sounds...long vowel patterns, r-controlled vowels such as the -ar in cart, as well as word work in plurals. We are also starting to do some monthly Spelling Bees to practice both sight word spelling and applying our phonics strategies to new, unknown words. In Writing, we will be reviewing our narrative and informational writing, and introducing our Opinion writing. The students learn to state an opinion, give reasons for the opinion, and close the writing with a re-stating of the opinion.
Students are starting to take turns leading our Phonics charts! They love being student teachers!
